General Principles of Playing and Landing Fish

In this section, we’ll discuss how to properly hook a fish and how to land it, depending on the fishing method you choose.
1. Feeder Tackle
A feeder is a rod with a small bait cage (with groundbait) and a hook with bait, both always lying on the bottom — this is the main difference from other fishing methods.
- Take the rod from your inventory and cast it by tapping the desired point on the screen.
- It’s recommended to use a depth gauge to find interesting bottom relief, but it’s optional.
- Next, just wait for a bite — you’ll see the line tension bar with green, yellow, and red sections, as well as an arrow.
- You have a few seconds to set the hook (press the yellow button) so the fish is hooked securely.
- If successful, the landing phase begins (described below).
2. Float Tackle
The float tackle (the second tab in the tackle section) allows you to fish at different water layers — both near the bottom and closer to the surface.
- Before casting, set the distance from the baited hook to the float — do this with the slider in the inventory.
- After that, cast the tackle and wait for a bite.
- If the float immediately lies flat on the surface, the hook and bait are at the bottom.
- Depending on the type and size of fish and the casting depth, the bite may look different, but you’ll see the float move.
- As with the feeder, you have a few seconds to set the hook (yellow button).
3. Spinning
Spinning (the third tab) is designed for catching predatory fish with artificial lures.
- Before casting, choose the retrieve speed (fast, medium, or slow) — set this with the horizontal slider in the inventory.
- The retrieve speed determines at what depth the fish will be caught: near the surface, mid-water, or near the bottom.
- Unlike other methods, here you must actively turn the reel — wait for a bite right after casting.
- You’ll feel the bite immediately, especially if the fish is large.
- You don’t need to set the hook separately: it’s better to quickly release the reel button and get ready for landing.
The Process of Landing the Fish
- Landing is done by pressing the same yellow button — do this carefully, watching the line tension bar.
- The stronger the fish compared to your tackle, the faster the arrow will move toward the red section.
- If the arrow stays in the red section for too long, the fish may break free or snap the line.
- Try to keep the arrow out of the red section — pull smartly!
Fish Strength and Angler Strength
- Fish strength depends on its species and size.
- Angler strength is determined by your rod and reel stats and by the Power Soup (+20% strength, cooked in the house kitchen).
- The stronger your gear, the easier it is to land big fish — so it’s worth saving coins for upgrades!
