Tournaments
Tournaments are in-game competitions against virtual opponents where you try to achieve the best result for a selected fish species within a limited time. Below is a detailed guide explaining how tournaments work and what you should pay attention to.
How to open the Tournament window
- While fishing at any location, tap the second round icon on the left in the bottom row.
- In the “Basic” tab you can set your in-game nickname. It is used only inside the game — specifically in the “Tourney” section.
- Go to the “Tourney” tab to see all available competitions.
If you have opened the “Tourney” tab at least once, then tapping the book-shaped icon (on the right in the bottom row) will automatically open the Tournaments page. If you close the window while on the “Tasks” tab, the icon will again open the tasks.
Types of tournaments
Tournaments come in three variants. Each one is held for a specific fish species:
- “Record” — catch the largest individual fish of the selected species.
- “Total Weight” — catch as much fish as possible by total weight for the chosen species.
- “Quantity” — catch the highest number of fish of that species.
Participation requirements
To enter a tournament, the following conditions must be met:
-
Enough coins to pay the entry fee.
The fee equals twice your fisherman level. For example, if your level is 10, the entry fee will be 20 coins. -
If you are fishing with a time-limited permit, it must have more than 5 in-game hours remaining.
If you are fishing at a purchased base, there are no time limits at all — you can freely join tournaments.
Your opponents are virtual fishermen who catch fish using the same randomness rules as you. They have no special advantages. What helps you win is choosing the right gear, bait, fishing depth, time of day — and, of course, a bit of luck never hurts.
Tournament window
After you confirm participation, the tournament window will open. It displays:
- the list of all participants (including your nickname);
- the tournament name and target fish species;
- current statistics for each fisherman (record, total weight, or count);
- remaining real-time until the tournament ends;
- your overall tournament statistics (number of wins and ties);
- a button to cancel the tournament.
How the tournament works
- Total duration — about 17 minutes of real time.
- The timer decreases only while your rod is in your hands.
- When you put the rod back into your inventory, the timer pauses. You can return and continue the tournament at any time — even the next day.
Before you start fishing, you can safely close the tournament window, open the knowledge base, and check which bait, gear, and depth work best for the chosen fish species. Also consider whether that fish is active during the current time of day (day or night).
Rewards
- If you win (even if you share first place), you receive a reward equal to double the entry fee. Example: you paid 10 coins — you receive 20.
- If there is a tie, your entire entry fee is refunded.
- If you cancel the tournament, the entry fee is always lost, so canceling is almost never worthwhile.
Balance and fairness
Opponents use the same random mechanics as the player, so the system is fair and transparent. Your result depends on you: choose the right setup, bait, depth, and time of day — and luck will eventually be on your side.
Try different tournament types and fish species — some combinations are noticeably easier to win.
Feedback
If you feel that a certain tournament type for a specific fish species is too easy or too difficult, send me a message directly from the game using the mail icon on the main screen. Include your fisherman level — it helps me adjust the balance more accurately. Thank you!
